GOOD CITIZENSHIP
Participation in both the sports scene and the street scene is impossible: students must make a choice! Athletes “in-season” are expected to obey the law and to follow school rules. Violations of the district's Discipline Policy may have athletic consequences in addition to whatever school discipline might be assessed. In addition, any in-season student-athlete who is involved with, but not limited to, any of the following will be immediately suspended from their squad: smoking tobacco, chewing tobacco or snuff, alcohol, street drugs, anabolic steroids, larceny, physical assault, or vandalism. An athlete may appeal a suspension to the Athletic Director. A decision on reinstatement will be made by the Athletic Director and the coach after all aspects and circumstances regarding the case have been considered. The minimum penalty for a first violation is a suspension from the next three contests or three days of competition. The minimum penalty for a second violation is suspension for the remainder of the season. |
