CONFLICTS WITH OTHER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Student-athletes are frequently involved in multiple school activities. If a conflict in calendar occurs which requires the student to be in two places at the same time, the athlete should notify the coach and the director of the other activity as soon as possible. The coach and director of the other activity will communicate to negotiate the shared time. Generally, actual games or performances take priority over practices or rehearsals. The student-athlete is not to be put in jeopardy by either the coach or the other activity director during the resolution of the conflict. Early communication of conflicts is very important.
Individual coaches reserve the right to set reasonable team policies with respect to conflicts involving non-school activities such as jobs, concerts, social events, or non-school out-of-season sports.
