GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP
Good sportsmanship encompasses care and genuine concern for others. Athletes must demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times, including accepting decisions of officials without question; refraining from abusive remarks directed toward opponents, or officials; exercising self-control and fair play during a contest; following both the letter and the spiriti of the rules; and condemning acts of unsportsmanlike conduct on the part of teammates or spectators. Profanity, taunting or vulgar gestures will never be tolerated. An athlete who commits a flagrant act of poor sportsmanship which results in being ejected from a contest MUST sit out the next day of competition. Repeated ejections during the same season carry more serious consequences as outlined in MHSAA rules and may even provoke suspension from the squad. |
