Lisa Bares

Degrees:
B.A. – Kalamazoo College in International Area Studies and Spanish
M.A. - University of Denver in International and Intercultural Communication (August 2005 expected date of degree completion)
Universidad Antonio de Nebrija – Extensive study of Spanish language and culture. Independent project focusing on the educational system in Spain
Experience:
Teach grades 9-12 at Huron High School in Spanish and French (Spanish 3AC, 2AC, 2, 1 and French 1)
Develop and facilitate experiential activities for intercultural learning
Advised international students at the University of Denver
Participated in with Project Bosnia’s Vares Summer School Program where I taught in a multi-ethnic school setting
Created and conducted grammar and culture lessons for business personnel at PRAB/Hapman Conveyors
Instructed conversation and reading comprehensions lessons in English at El Instituto San Isidro in Madrid
Interned at the Smithsonian Institution’s American Folklife Festival with the African Immigrant Program
Interests:
