Local Students and Teacher Participate in National Leadership Conference in Reno, Nevada for Competition, Recognition, and Interaction with IndustryTwenty students attend National conference 15 return National Finalists/winners. Diane Stocker-Bendersky and Christy Garrett (BPA Advisors), and 20 students represented the Huron High School Chapter of Business Professionals of America and attended this prestigious national competition in Reno, Nevada during May 6-12, 2008. 
Out of the 20 students who attended the National Leadership Conference, 15 students returned home as National Finalists that included a 1st place team win in Software Engineering, a 2nd place team win in Web Page Design, a 4th place team win in Financial Analyst, a 3rd place individual win in Digital Media Production, a 5th place individual win in Advance Office Systems and Procedures, a 7th place individual win in Medical Office Procedures, and a 9th place individual win in Fundamentals of XHTML. Approximately 3,500 high school and 800 college students from throughout the United States participated in Business Professionals of America's 42nd National Leadership Conference. Activities included general sessions with keynote speakers, business meetings, leadership workshops, contests, software certification testing, election of national offices, and tours of the spectacular sights in Reno, Nevada. Congratulations to the Huron High School Business Professionals of America Chapter and Teams! |
