First Place Midwest Region Business Plan Winner 2008 |

The Center for Entrepreneurship at Eastern Michigan University presented their first Business Plan Competition for members of the Midwest Region on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the 11th Annual Midwest Regional Entrepreneurship Conference. Students competed for cash prizes. Finalists were asked to present their plans along with a PowerPoint presentation during the conference-to-conference attendees.
 Huron's business student, Eric McCabe (10th grader) won 1st place for his Entrepreneurial Business Plan entitled "The Green Light LLC" and took home a $1,000.00 check. The Green Light business plan showcases a company designed to provide easy and affordable ways for homeowners to increase their energy independence. They offer Compact Fluorescent Light (CFLs) bulbs to customers who wish to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.Tranette Slater a 12th grade business and cosmetology student submitted a business plan for Monicques Unisex Salon & Spa - a hair salon business targeted at providing specialized hair and salon services to college students and young families.
Guang Ye (Sean) Yi - a 11th grade business student submitted his business plan Hearty's - a healthy fast food restaurant dedicated to providing customers with the healthiest and best tasting food for a great price with exceptional customer service. Both Tranette Slater and Guang Ye (Sean) Yi received honorable mention. |
