Fall Tasks:
Keep a strong schedule of classes.
Take SAT I and / or ACT (especially if you didn't in your junior year). Students must take by December for State of Michigan Competitive Scholarship.
Determine if SAT II is required for college choices.
Visit the Career Resource Center to meet college representatives obtain applications and check deadlines. Use the internet to search for colleges.
Send college applications by mid-November. Michigan State by mid-October or as soon as possible.
Thanksgiving is the deadline to submit college applications to the school in order for them to be sent out before winter vacation.
To learn about scholarship opportunities, check the Scholarship News, which is published every two or three weeks and is available in the Career Resource Center. Use the internet to search for scholarships.
Parents In December attend Financial Aid Night. Attend the evening workshop on December 12th with parents on completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Make sure second semester schedule is complete.
BEWARE OF SENIORITIS!
Winter Tasks:
Mail financial aid application after January 1st. The dealdone for RECEIPT of the application for State Scholarship is mid February.
Prepare for final exams.
Visit college campuses to help narrow college choices.
Spring Tasks:
Financial awards letters are sent from colleges and universities.
Deposits are due at colleges.
