Fall Tasks:
Junior year grades are important. The grades and trends of the junior year will be reviewed in the fall of the senior year by college admissions personnel when the college application is sent.
Take the PSAT in October.
Visit the Career Resource Center to meet college representatives visiting Huron.
Meet with counselors for Junior Interviews (fall through spring)
Take ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Batery) in November.
Winter Tasks:
Review PSAT Score Report
Meet with counselor to review center interest areas. Review transcript for accuracy and trends.
Begin search for summer programs
Spring Tasks:
Take American College Test (ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test I (SAT I). See testing chart.
Check the the registration deadline for the April ACT . The end of March is the registration deadline for the May SAT I test. Check with the Career Resource Center for specific dates.
Attend Ann Arbor Career & College Fair scheduled in April.
Check in May for the registration deadline for the June SAT I. Early May is the regist ration deadline for the June ACT.
If enrolled in advanced placement (AP) courses, decide which, if any, tests to take. Registration information is available in AP classes.
Apply to summer programs at colleges and universities. See list in the Career Resource Center.
Start the application process to service academies.
Begin college visits.
Review for and complete second semester final examinations.
Take the MME. Check in the Career Resource Center.
If collegiate sports is a consideration, complete NCAA Clearninghous form. (obtain from Career Resource Center).
