October 27, 2011- Huron defeats Farmington Hills Mercy in State Semi-Final match, 2-1. Huron advances to the State Finals on Saturday. October 22, 2011 - Huron defeats Washtenaw Whippets 7-0. Huron Advances to State Playoff Quater Finals. October 18, 2011 - Hujron Varsity defeats Gross Pointe South 3-0. Where: Huron High School -Field Hockey Field -Next to Football Field. If you're not registered, then please go to http://www.usafieldhockey.com/futures and register with Region 9 Great Lakes. There is a $28.00 registration fee and you do not need to be a USA Field Hockey member to tryout. Please go to website for more information. Mission and Goals The mission of the Futures Program is to regionally develop the best athletes for the purpose of identifying talented “future” Olympic level athletes, and to strengthen the level of field hockey throughout the United States. The goal of the Futures Program is to develop the Futures athletes’ skills and understanding of the game. Skills and hockey concepts will be further developed through repetition and ball touches. Along with technical skills, tactical elements are also incorporated in the curriculum. After each session, the players will be asked to analyze their skill and ability level using USA Field Hockey's performance wheel. The Performance Wheel will help each athlete measure their growth as a field hockey player during thew Futures season. |
