2007 State Chess Champions @ Huron |

The Huron Chess team of Nate Blomberg, Mike Dowling, Sanjiv Rao, and Otto Almeyda finished as the top team in the state of Michigan at Saturday's competition at Kettering University. The reserve team of Chinthaka Amarasinghe, Bryan Li, Ivan Sturion, and Mikhail Wise finishedin 6th place in the Reserve section. Huron's individual medal winners were: Mike Dowling-Gold medal, Eugene Ivanov-Gold medal, Mikhail Wise-Silver medal, and Otto Almeyda-Bronze medal. It was an exciting competition with 44 teams in attendance. River Rats rule! |
