EXAMS – All teachers are required to give
final exams or other culminating activities. Students may not leave class
until the bell has rung, indicating the end of the period. Thank you for your
help in keeping the hallways quiet and empty.
EXAM
SCHEDULE – Be sure you
know the time of final exams. Also be sure to make definite arrangements for
any make-up examinations that may be necessary. The exams are to be given at
the announced time of 8:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. The entire final exam schedule is
under a separate cover.
MAKE–UP
POLICY – The make-up
period is Friday, January 27 and must be arranged with the teacher. Make-up
is allowed only for approved excused absences called in by a parent.
CAFETERIA
SCHEDULE DURING EXAM TIME
– Students are encouraged to stay home whenever they do not have a class.
They need to find alternative transportation so they will not be in the
building unnecessarily. HOWEVER, IF TRANSPORTATION IS A PROBLEM, THE
CAFETERIA WILL BE OPEN FOR THOSE STUDENTS. We encourage students to arrange
for transportation to go home immediately after an exam whenever possible.
DETENTIONS – Detention time will be served with
the teacher and must be arranged with that teacher.
PASSES/PROMPTNESS – Students are to report on time to
exams or detentions. No students are permitted in the halls during exams. NO
PASSES ARE PERMITTED TO LEAVE EXAMS EARLY.
STUDENTS’
SCHEDULES – 2nd
semester schedules will be distributed in front of the Guidance Office on
January 25 and 25 from 7:30-8:00 A.M., 9:30-10:00 A.M. and 11:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Please remind students that they must
retain their original schedule for reference the first day of school and
until they learn the schedule. THERE ARE NO DUPLICATES.
OBLIGATIONS – Do you owe an obligation to the
Library, Book Depository, Music Department or Athletic Office? Do you still
owe detentions? Obligation lists will be posted around school this week. Be
sure your obligations are cleared before the end of exams.

SCHEDULE
CHANGE GUIDELINES –
Counselors have been authorized to make schedule changes for the following
reasons only:
- correction of obvious errors such
as omissions of a selected course
- C.O.E.
- due to failure, sequential classes
such as Mathematics or Foreign Language
- Summer School related change
- dual enrollment at a College or a
University
- split enrollment at another high
school within the A.A.P.S. district
- testing out
- TEACHER OR HOUR PREFERENCE CHANGES
WILL NOT BE HONORED
TRESPASSING
AT OTHER SCHOOL BUILDINGS
– Students are requested to stay away from other schools during the exam
period as classes are in session there. Principals from other schools will
report trespassers to Huron High School for disciplinary action.
BOOK
COLLECTION – Students who are completing one semester courses must
return books to the Book Depository before new books will be issued to you
for second semester classes, please turn in these books during final
exam week whenever possible. Students dropping out of full year
courses or changing a course level must return books to the Book Depository
before receiving another one. Book Depository hours will be extended during
the first week of second semester classes (February 1-4) from 7:15 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHECK OUT
BOOKS WITHOUT PROPER IDENTIFICATION.
2ND
SEMESTER CLASSES –
Students are to report to their 1st hour class by 7:40 A.M. Students should
plan on a full day of school on Tuesday, January 31.
ATTENDANCE – Attendance policies and procedures
are in effect throughout the examination period. If you have an unexcused
absence during exams, you lose make-up privileges. THE ATTENDANCE POLICY IS
IN EFFECT BEGINNING THE 1ST DAY OF THE 2ND SEMESTER – TUESDAY, JANUARY 31.
PHYSICAL
EDUCATION/SWIM CLASSES
– Remove all locks and clothes from gym lockers by 3:00 P.M. on Friday, January 27 and take the clothes
home to be cleaned. LOCKS LEFT ON OR CLOTHES LEFT IN LOCKERS WILL BE REMOVED
ON FRIDAY.
PARKING – Students who drive to school during
exam periods are to park in approved places only. City ordinance prohibits
parking on school driveways and the faculty lot. ALL PARKING VIOLATIONS ARE
SUBJECT TO BEING TICKETED AND/OR TOWED.
BUS
SCHEDULE – The AAPS
buses will arrive at 11:45 A.M. on January 24, 25, 26, & 27. All
buses will depart from Huron at 11:55 A.M.
ATTENDANCE
AWARDS – Students with
zero (0) unexcused absences and no more than three (3) excused absences are
eligible for a “gold” pass to all 2nd semester, 2005-06 school events.
The teacher should complete the form provided by the student during the final
exam period and sign the form. DO NOT INITIAL IT.
SNOW DAYS – In the event of a snow day, that
day’s exams will be given on the following day.
