 Course Description
  • Nutrition & Foods is a one-semester course which fulfills an elective requirement for graduation from the Ann Arbor Public Schools. During this course we will cover the following topics:

                * Nutrition and its relationship to foods preparation

                * Food safety and sanitation

                * Media and its influence on our nutritional decision making

                *Explore myths and facts regarding vitamin/herbal supplements

                * Table manners

                * Exploration of job and career opportunities in the Nutritional/Food Industries

    Students will use a variety of learning methods in this class. Through discussion, lecture, notes, laboratory, computer research, presentations, quizzes and tests, students will receive their grade for this class.
