Objectives

I.                   Integrate Media and Technology into Teaching and Learning

a.       Students

                                                               i.      Graduate Requirement: ability to acquire/access, manage/manipulate, publish/process information

                                                             ii.      Student email

                                                            iii.      Class Web Sites

                                                           iv.      Home access to Media Center catalog and resources

                                                             v.      Thumb Drives for all students (if appropriate)

                                                           vi.      Parent access to grades, homework, class web sites

                                                          vii.      Access to digital technology and production facilities

                                                        viii.      Open Lab time – supervised

b.       Teachers

                                                               i.      Ongoing training – in-classroom focus

                                                             ii.      Focus on individualized student learning

                                                            iii.      Increase access to resources and reporting from home

                                                           iv.      Replace old equipment on a regular cycle consistently

                                                             v.      Desktop and mobile labs – more

                                                           vi.      New Teacher orientation

2.      Equitable Access for all students, teachers, and staff

3.      Continual evaluation and long-range planning

a.       AAPS buyers link purchases with building reality

b.       District sets standards.  Building defines needs.

c.       Communication between building instructional needs and district.

d.       Instructional Technology Committee assumes responsibility for long-range planning, annual review, and measurement of success.

e.       A stable and adequate budget from the district for media and technology.
