The SAT I measures how well a student reads and thinks, while SAT II: Subject Tests measure the extent of a student’s knowledge in a specific discipline. for more specific information visit the collegeboard web site. Subject test areas are:

| Should I take the SAT II? |
| Yes, definitely. Selective colleges and universities in Michigan will use these test results as one of their tools for determining admission. Check each school of your choice for their admissions requirements. It is best to check Huron High School's Events Planning Calendar for key dates and/or check the Collegeboard web site for SAT II Test Dates (collegeboard.com). |
| When should I take the SAT II test? |
| Many students choose to take the SAT II test in their junior or senior year. Check with the Huron High School's Events Planning Calendar for key dates. |
| When is the SAT II test given? |
| The SAT II test is administered on most days that the SAT I is given. Get at the collegeboard.com web site to see the availability of testing times and dates. Language tests that have "with listening" sections are only offered in November at specific centers. Students will need to take to the testing center a cassette player with earphones. |
| When should I take the SAT II ? |
| This test should be taken at the end of a recently completed course when the material is fresh in the students mind. |
| Can I take the SAT II more than once? |
| It’s typically taken in the senior year, but many students take the SATII more than once since most colleges consider only the highest scores. |
| Where do I go to register for the SAT II test? |
Students can get a mail-in registration packet from the Career Resource Center at Huron High School. Students can register to take the SAT I at any testing center. Students can also register on line at the collegeboard web site- http://www.collegeboard.com.
Payment will need to be made by credit card. The registration fee is $16 plus a fee of $8 - $16 for each subject test taken. Additional costs will be added if registration is late. Registering early gives you the best chance of being assigned to the test center of your choice. |
| What if I cannot afford the registration fee? |
| Students can apply through their counselor for a registration fee waiver. Additional costs will be added if registration is late. |
| When can I begin registration for the SAT II test? |
| Students can begin registration at the start of the new school year. The deadline is approximately five weeks prior to the test date. |
| What If I have to change the test date, place, or level of test? What to do? |
| Students can change the test date, change the test center, change the test level SAT I or SAT II or contract the testing center if student has disabilities. Students need to contact their counselor or go to the collegeboard web siteto make appropriate changes. |
| How much time does the SAT II test take? |
| Students can plan on staying at the testing center for approximately 3 hours. Student should plan to arrive between 8:00 AM and 8:15 AM to allow for processing. The actual test is 3 hours. The test will end no later than 12:30 PM. |
| What do I need to bring with me to the SAT II testing center? |

Student should come prepared. Students should have with them:
- Proper Identification which may include school ID, driver's license or passport
- The Admissions Ticket that they received on-line (if test was registered on-line).
- Two No. 2 pencils with soft erasers
- With listening language tests, students need to bring a cassette players with earphones.

| When do I receive my SAT II testing results? |
| Scores are mailed from the testing centers about three weeks after the student takes the test. |

| How do I get the SAT II exams results sent to the college/universities of my choice? |
| At the time that you register, you can request that scores be sent to colleges/universities and to the places you are apply to for scholarships. By selecting the option "Score Choice", students can decide and may elect to withhold sending the scores until they see them. Scores can be released on line, students can use the Score Release Form on a score report or in the Registration Bulletin, or students can contact the Registration center by telephone at 1-609-771-7600. |
