Message from the Coaches
Tennis is an individual lifetime sport which challenges both the body and the mind. The team structure of high school tennis gives an extra added dimension to the sport. We are looking for energetic and hard working athletes who are committed to the team effort. Participation will improve your skills and strategy while experiencing the excitement of competition. Varsity athletes participate in several fundraising activities throughout the year. Junior Varsity athletes will be required to participate in at least one of these projects.

Season:   Spring  (Monday, March 14, 2011 - Sunday, June 5, 2011)

Levels:   Varsity and JV

Hours per Week:   15-20 (approximate)

Time of Practice Daily
Varsity: 4:15-6:15 PM (2 hrs)
JV: 3:30-4:45 PM (1.75 hrs)

Home Event Hours
Varsity: 2.5
JV: 3

Away Event Hours:   4 to 5 hours (approximate)

Practice Location:   Huron High School tennis courts

Who provides transportation to & from practice?   Parents

Are any cuts made in this sport?   Yes

Varsity: 12
JV: 35-40

Tryout Criteria:   Attitude, ability, skill, potential, challenge ladder; need your own racquet.

Does this sport collect dues or fees?   Yes, varsity members have to pay fees for tournament lunches, match day snacks and uniforms.
