@JV Regional Invite - Almost every competing athlete set a personal best in their event(s)! We medaled in 16 out of 17 events and the girls gave everything they had which produced excellent results!
@ MHSAA Regionals - Lamicah Hughbanks tied the school record in the 100 meter dash (old record is from 1979) and we won the 4x200m relay (Cindy Ofili, Maya Long, Anna Masini, and LaMicah) setting a new school record and beating Pioneer in a varsity relay for the first time in decades! We also placed in the 4x8 (3rd), 100 dash (Cindy:4th), 100 hurdles (Cindy:6th), 4x2 (1st), 4x100 (5th), 400 (1st and 6th, Maya and Chinyere, resepctively), 300 hurdles (Anna:2nd), 200 (Lamicah: 2nd), 3200 run (Karyn:6th), 4x4 (3rd) Huron will we competing in 8 of these events at the state finals! @ SEC Conference Championships - 3rd in the Red Division behind Saline and Pioneer. All three teams (including us) are ranked amoung the top teams in the state!
Recently, we had 6 girls inducted into the National Honor Society (Alexa Lee, Supreet Grewal, Malica Yalamanchili, Anna Masini, Lexi Collins & Hannah Sherman) and two out of three Joyce Ivy Foundation award recipients were our very own track girls - Annie-Norah Beveridge and Taylor Clayborne. Maya Long also represented us in the Michigan Leads Youth leadership program in Lansing. These are just a few honors and accomplishments that we are so proud of our kids for! There are so many more!
