Careers using biology |

A large number have gone on to successful careers in medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy and other professional fields. Approximately 5 percent of our graduates have entered secondary teaching in science and about 10 percent have gone to graduate school to pursue research and/or teaching. A considerable number of these former students are now on the teaching faculty of colleges, universities and medical schools. Other graduates have gone on to careers in such diverse fields as marine biology, veterinary medicine, biotechnology, public health, business, law and art. The Department is planning to develop a certification program in the area of biotechnology for the 1996-97 academic year, allowing students to proceed directly to employment in that field after their graduation. |
